Body mass index (BMI) tends to decline up to seven years earlier in those with incident mild cognitive impairment (MCI) vs. adults who remain cognitively intact. Among 1,390 participants, BMI declined at the same pace after MCI diagnosis in people who developed dementia and those who did not.
