(HealthDay News) -- Osteoporosis occurs when the bones lose density and break more easily. Though it's a common problem, osteoporosis shouldn't be ignored.
The National Osteoporosis Foundation says possible complications include:
Broken bones.
Chronic pain.
Losing height.
A hunched or stooped posture.
Reduced mobility, which can result in feeling depressed or lonely.
The potential need for nursing home care, such as for a broken hip.
