Bone Disease Common With Chronic Pancreatitis

Patients with chronic pancreatitis (CP) have significant bone disease. In a meta-analysis of 18 studies, the pooled prevalence of osteopenia and osteoporosis in patients with CP was 41.2% and 20.9%, respectively. Use of pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy was linked to osteoporosis.
