The University of Michigan Health System advises parents to:

  • Join a smoking cessation program and talk to your child about the importance of not smoking.
  • Watch movies with your child and talk about tobacco when you see characters smoking.
  • Check out credible resources for ways to talk with your child about tobacco use.
