Testicular Cancer

Know the symptoms

(HealthDayNews) -- Every year, about 5,000 men in the United States are diagnosed with testicular cancer, according to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Cancer of the testicles is the most common solid tumor found in men ages 20 to 34.

The good news is that the death rate is low, provided the cancer is caught in its early stages.

Urologists advise men to regularly check their testicles for signs of swelling or lumps. Other symptoms include persistent pain or discomfort in the testicles, groin or lower abdomen; a sudden collection of fluid in the scrotum; or enlarged breasts.
