(HealthDay News) -- Angina is the term for chest pain that occurs when a portion of the heart isn't getting enough oxygenated blood. The National Heart Lung and Blood Institute says the following triggers may be behind angina pain: Coronary heart disease. A blood clot. Extremely hot or cold weather. Emotional stress. Smoking or using cocaine. Medications that cause narrowing of the blood vessels. Insufficient blood flow to the small arteries feeding the heart.
