Tracking Your Treatment

Charting blood pressure, medication a good idea

If you have heart problems or other medical woes, keeping track of all your drugs and treatments can get complicated. The American Heart Association has some advice to help you.

First, if you take medication to lower your blood pressure, find out if your doctor wants you to have a home monitoring kit to check whether the drugs are working. If you use a monitoring kit, keep a record of the readings so your doctor can check them.

The association also suggests you mark on a calendar which medication you are to take each day. In addition, buy a plastic pill container that has slots for each day. Load it at the beginning of the week to keep your medications straight.
