Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria Genetically Tied to Autoimmune, Not Atopic Diseases

Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) shares genetic traits with autoimmune diseases. In discovery (430 CSU, 482 controls) and validation (800 CSU, 900 controls) cohorts, five genome-wide significant variants associated with immune processes were identified, but none had atopic or allergic phenotypes.
