CKD After Radical Nephrectomy Not Uncommon

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is common after radical nephrectomy for local renal cell carcinoma. Among 1,233 patients, CKD incidence at five years postnephrectomy was 43.4%; risk factors were age, preoperative estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) of the contralateral kidney, and postop eGFR.
