Lower Back Pain Emphysema Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

Lower Back Pain

If you are aged 18 to 50, have low back pain that appears to be getting worse, have difficulty sitting for long periods, have no pain that radiates to the calf, and have had no spinal surgery, you may qualify for this study.

Emphysema

If you are aged 40 to 74, have severe emphysema, are able to participate in standard exercise testing, are willing to abstain from smoking for four months prior and during the trial, and can complete at least one overnight clinic stay, you may qualify for this study.

If you are a woman who has had uncomplicated pregnancies or pregnancies complicated by high blood pressure in the past 10 years, you may be eligible for this study.
