High Cholesterol Alzheimer's Disease Bipolar Disorders

High Cholesterol

If you are concerned with managing high cholesterol, you may wish to participate in this clinical study of an oral investigational medication. To qualify, you must be 18-85 and have high cholesterol. Participants will receive study related medication and care, lab tests, and diet and exercise counseling at no cost.

Alzheimer's Disease

This 18-month, eight-visit study will evaluate the effects of DHA in slowing the progression of Alzheimer's disease. Candidates must have Alzheimer's, be more than 50 years old, and have a friend or relative who can accompany them to all study visits. Participants receive memory evaluations and laboratory tests at no cost, and $200 for completing the study.

Bipolar Disorders

If your child is 6-12 years old and has symptoms of explosiveness, mood swings, irritability, or violent behavior, he or she may have bipolar disorder. This eight-week study will evaluate the effectiveness and safety of a medication called Equetro (carbamazepine ER). Participants must be able to swallow pills and participate in mandatory weekly blood draws. They will receive study related evaluations and weekly visits with study doctors at no cost.
