This study will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication to manage breakthrough pain. Volunteers 18-80 who have had chronic pain for at least three months may be eligible.

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) or Heartburn

Volunteers 18 and older who have endoscopically confirmed erosive esophagitis may qualify for this study of GERD and heartburn.

The research site is in Mount Pleasant, Ohio.

Bipolar Disorders

Feelings of being on an "emotional roller coaster" may be a symptom of bipolar disorder, also known as manic depression. This study is enrolling adults 18 and older who may have bipolar disorder.
