Diabetes Mellitus Types 1 and 2 Postherpetic Neuralgia Insomnia

Diabetes Mellitus Types 1 and 2

This 8-week study will assess fluid changes in the lower legs after treatment with an FDA-approved anti-diabetic medication. Volunteers 18-70 with type 2 diabetes who weigh less than 250 pounds and have a regular exercise routine may qualify. Participants must not be on Actos or Avandia, or have permanent metal implants.

The research site is in Belmont, Mass.

Postherpetic Neuralgia

If you are an adult who had shingles more than three months ago but still have pain, you may be eligible to participate in this clinical study. Candidates must be 18 or older without severe pain from other causes.

Insomnia

This study will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug for insomnia. Volunteers must be 18 to 64, cannot be diagnosed with any other sleep disorder, and cannot have HIV or hepatitis B or C. Women cannot be pregnant, nursing, and must use an acceptable form of birth control.

The research site is in Atlanta, Georgia.
