Strokes

A research study to determine whether an investigational medicine approved to treat diabetes mellitus will prevent a second stroke or heart attack. Volunteers 45 or older who have had a stroke within the past six months, have no history of diabetes mellitus, and are willing to commit to a study of stroke prevention that may last up to five years may be eligible. Research site located in Lexington, Ky.

Asthma (Pediatric)

A research study to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of an investigational drug for the treatment of asthma. Children between ages 6 and 12 who have been diagnosed with allergic asthma for more than one year, have experienced an asthma attack within one year, and are currently using an asthma inhaler (corticosteroid) may be eligible. Research site located in Palmdale, Calif.
