Ulcerative Colitis Prostate Cancer Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Ulcerative Colitis

A study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of an investigational medication in patients with severe ulcerative colitis that have failed to respond to steroid therapy. Volunteers ages 16-70 who have been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis within 36 months prior to study entry and whose disease has not responded to ongoing treatment with steroids may be eligible. Research sites located throughout the United States.

Prostate Cancer

A study of an investigational medication to reduce the risk of osteoporosis leading to bone fractures in patients receiving androgen deprivation treatment for prostate cancer. Volunteers 60 or older who have a histologically confirmed diagnosis of carcinoma of the prostate and have been on LHRHa treatment for at least a year may be eligible. Research sites located throughout the United States.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

A clinical research study for women who suffer from severe diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Volunteers at least 18 years old who have had severe diarrhea-predominant IBS symptoms for at least six months and have failed conventional IBS therapy may be eligible. Research site located in Bountiful, Utah.
