Heart Disease

A research study testing whether insulin glargine and omega-3 fatty acids can prevent future cardiovascular disease and associated complications. Volunteers 50 or older who have any of these risk factors may be eligible: a blood-sugar level that is slightly high, type 2 diabetes treated by a maximum of one pill, a previous heart attack or stroke, stable or unstable angina, or other diseases of the heart or blood vessels.
