Clinician Testing Threshold for Infectious Mononucleosis ~10% for Sore Throat Visits

For outpatient visits for sore throat, clinicians have a test threshold of nearly 10% for ordering a test for mononucleosis. Based on 117 clinicians’ responses (819 vignettes), the threshold for clinicians practicing more than 10 years was significantly higher but with no differences by specialty.
