What do you do if your son or daughter chips or loses a tooth? The Delta Dental Plan of Michigan has some advice.
First, find the tooth, or any pieces that have broken off. Don't clean or handle it more than necessary. If possible, put the tooth back in the socket. If that's not possible, put it into a cup of water or milk.
Then, get to a dentist, pronto. That's because after about 30 minutes, a tooth that's been knocked out slowly begins to die.
