Tips to overcome fear of the dentist

Does the prospect of a trip to the dentist send chills down your spine? Then the American Dental Association has some tips for you.

First, share your fears with your dentist. Talking them out can alleviate your worries, and your dentist can adapt the treatments to make you feel more at ease.

Second, make the appointment for a Saturday or day off, so you're not rushed.

Finally, if the sound of the drill panics you, bring along a portable audio player and headphones to block out the sound.
