How to Delay Decay

Avoid what sticks to your teeth

(HealthDayNews) -- Has your dentist ever told you to avoid sticky foods?

Most dentists give patients that warning -- but lots of people don't know what foods really stick in their teeth.

In a study reported in the Journal of Dental Research, cookies, crackers and potato chips were most likely to get stuck in teeth.

But foods that seem sticky -- caramels, jelly beans, raisins and milk chocolate bars -- were quickly cleared from the teeth and posed only a small risk of causing tooth decay.
