It's the Same Old Grind

Your teeth grind while you sleep

(HealthDayNews) -- Did you know that while you're asleep, it's not just your mind that remains active? Your mouth does, also.

According to a study published in the Journal of Dental Research, your teeth grind against each other throughout much of the night.

Men grind their teeth an average of 75 times each night, women about 65 times a night. That's based on a 7-hour sleep period. The study was conducted by the Center for Oral Medicine at the University of Zurich, Switzerland.

Usually, the grinding only lasts half a second -- which is not long enough to do much damage.
