Health Tip: Easing the Stress of Diabetes

Make sure you get enough exercise

(HealthDay News) -- Diabetes is bad enough without the stress that may go along with the disease.

The American Diabetes Association offers these stress-busting ideas:

  • Participate in a physical activity such as a sport, an exercise program or dancing.
  • Develop a personal coping style.
  • Learn to relax using breathing exercises, progressive relaxation therapy or simply substituting positive thoughts for negative ones.
  • Join a support group for people with diabetes.
