(HealthDay News) -- When certain substances in the urine crystallize to form a solid mass in the kidney or ureter, a kidney stone is born.
The University of Maryland Medical Center says kidney stone symptoms may include:
- Severe pain that comes on quickly and may quickly disappear. The pain often is confined to one side of the back, or the abdomen.
- An unusual color to the urine.
- Blood that appears in the urine.
- Fever or chills.
- Vomiting or feeling nauseated.
- Soreness in the back or belly when touched.
- Pain in the groin or testicles.
