Of Birth Month and Disease
Are the two related?
(HealthDayNews) -- This may sound like a supermarket tabloid item, but it's not.
Neuropsychobiology suggests that the season of your birth influences the chance that you'll have a specific psychiatric problem:
- People born in winter and spring have a 10 percent greater chance of being schizophrenic than people born in autumn and summer.
- People born in January, February and March show a higher incidence of bipolar disorder and depression than people born the rest of the year.
- People born in May have the highest rate of seasonal affective disorder.
Other disorders show less of a pattern. The likelihood of having an eating disorder or an anxiety of disorder is about the same, regardless of your sign of the zodiac.
