Health Tip: Help Prevent Motion Sickness

What to do when traveling by car

(HealthDay News) -- Nothing can ruin a road trip faster than a bout of motion sickness.

The University of Maryland Medical Center suggests how to help prevent motion sickness while in the car:

  • Sit in the front seat instead of the back.
  • Look at the horizon while you travel, and don't read.
  • Lean your head against the headrest, so it doesn't move.
  • Point air vents at your face.
  • Avoid smoking.
