Information on bike helmets can help in emergencies

(HealthDayNews) -- Requiring your child to wear a helmet when she bikes or skateboards can prevent a dangerous head injury.

And Texas Children's Hospital urges parents to take child safety a step further: Add a tag to her helmet that includes emergency information.

The information should include: the child's name, address and phone number; physician name and phone number; medical conditions or allergies; and a parent's or guardian's signature with consent to treat.
