Three Strikes and You're In

What makes a good bowler

(HealthDayNews) -- So what does it take to make a good bowler?

A team of researchers from Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia, reported in the Journal of Sports Science that bowling could depend more on a person's character than physical strength.

When they compared good bowlers with bad ones, they found that the best bowlers showed greater mental toughness, more planning and evaluation, greater consistency, more interest in improvement and greater competitiveness. Also, the better bowlers had more self confidence and didn't rely on luck.

As for the differences between younger and older bowlers, there was only one: the younger bowlers were more interested in the game.
