A Golfing Tip

Foot position matters

(HealthDayNews) -- If you'd like to increase your golf drives by about 15 yards, just get some custom-made orthotics that you wear with your regular shoes, and wear them every day for six weeks.

That's the finding of a study by researchers at the Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, Minn., who measured the club head speed of 12 experienced golfers. Then they had the golfers wear custom made orthotic devices for six weeks, and remeasured the club head velocity.

The second time, the club head was moving 5 mph faster than at the start of the study. The researchers estimate that the increase would amount to 15 yards on the average drive.
