Health Tip: Turning Off the TV

Suggestions to limit screen time

(HealthDay News) -- Less time in front of the TV or computer can mean more time being active.

The President's Challenge Program offers this advice:

  • Don't have the TV or computer on while reading, eating or doing homework.
  • When you do enjoy some screen time, break it up into small periods, interrupted with breaks for jumping jacks, walking up and down stairs, or other exercise.
  • Don't allow a TV in the bedroom.
