Identity Tags for Helmets

They can help in an emergency

(HealthDayNews) -- Most people know that children should wear helmets for activities like biking, skiing, and skating.

But helmets also have another advantage: they can identify the wearer in case of an accident.

Texas Children's Hospital suggests you attach an identification tag to your child's helmet and include:

  • Your child's name, address and phone number.
  • The name and phone number of an emergency contact.
  • Your physician's name and phone number.
  • Your child's medical history, medications and allergies.
