Stretch Before You Hit the Office

Sitting all day taxes the body

(HealthDay) -- Sitting at a desk may sound easy, but many office workers find that by the end of the day, they're sore and tired. This MSNBC story discusses the drawbacks of office work and how to keep yourself limber.

Although anyone who goes to a gym knows the importance of stretching beforehand, the article quotes an ergonomics consultant, Dr. Mark Melhorn, as saying anyone who sits at a desk all day needs to stretch periodically. He advises starting the day with five minutes of simple stretches and then working on specific areas like the shoulders, arms and wrists. In addition, Melhorn says it's important to stretch throughout the day.
