- Avoid exercising at midday or in the afternoon.
- Avoid congested streets and rush hour traffic.
- Listen for air-quality reports. They're often given with local weather forecasts.
- Watch the calendar. Ozone smog tends to be worse between May and October, and can be particularly dense during hot weather.
