How to Stomach Your Next Drink

A 14-carrot idea

(HealthDayNews) -- Alcohol can do some really nasty things to your body, including your stomach. The Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology reports that alcohol releases free radicals, which can damage the stomach's delicate lining.

The journal offers this advice: Drink some carrot juice before you down the hard stuff. Studies reveal that carrot juice antioxidants -- including glycine and carotene -- do an excellent job of protecting the stomach's lining against alcohol-induced cell damage.

The upshot is that you'll feel better in the morning, and you'll see better at night.
