Your Heart Won't 'Wine' About Beer

A bottle of beer benefits your heart as much as a glass of wine, study finds

(HealthDayNews) -- We all know the good news: a glass of red wine is probably good for your heart. But maybe the financial cost seems a bit too high.

So here's more good news. CMAJ, the Canadian Medical Association Journal, has an alternative -- beer.

After studying 11,780 people for five years, researchers from St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver concluded that the heart benefits of beer were the same as those of wine.

And the beer not only cost less, it also had the advantage of single-dose containers.
