And reduce their risk of accidental poisoning

(HealthDay News) -- Keeping medications away from children can help protect them from accidental ingestion.

The SafeKids.org website offers these guidelines to help keep medications away from kids:

  • Store all vitamins and medications where children can't get to them.
  • Search your home for drugs such as eye drops, rubbing alcohol or gummy vitamins, and store them out of reach.
  • Store the purses, pocketbooks and coats of guests away from where your child can get to them.
