(HealthDay News) -- Surgery can be traumatic enough without worrying about how to prepare.
The Loyola University Health System offers these suggestions before your procedure:
- You may have to stop drinking and eating the night before the operation. Check with your doctor.
- Bathe the area to be operated.
- Don't wear makeup, contacts or nail polish before surgery.
- Inform the medical staff about prosthetic or hearing devices you may be wearing.
Make sure to bring your social security number and health insurance card to the surgery.
