Ever wonder how anesthesiologists determine the amount of anesthesia that a patient will need for surgery?

According to the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists, these doctors are now using computer-controlled patient simulators to learn the basics, as well as the finer points, of anesthesia.

It's not unlike the way pilots and astronauts use simulators to learn to fly and navigate.
