Don't Sweat It

Condition that causes excess perspiration is treatable

(HealthDay) -- Sweating too much can be embarrassing, and for many people, an antiperspirant doesn't help.

If you have this problem, you may be suffering from hyperhidrosis, excessive perspiration under your arms and on the palms of your hands, says the Redding, Calif., Dermatology Medical Group. If you are diagnosed with it, the first thing your doctor probably will try is a medicine called Drysol. Other treatments include iontophoresis, which uses a machine to close pores, and botox, which involves injections of the botulinum toxin.

If all else fails, the clinic says surgery may help keep you dry.
