Health Tip: Don't Invite Bees to Picnic

Avoid bright colors or floral sprays

(HealthDayNews) -- Nothing can ruin a picnic like a few bees swarming around the food.

Lifespan Hospitals suggests you use bee biology to keep bees at bay:

  • Bees are attracted to colorful prints, so don't wear floral prints or brightly colored clothing.
  • Don't use brightly colored table cloths, plates, utensils, picnic blankets or other accessories.
  • Avoid wearing floral body sprays or using floral deodorant, soap or lotions.
  • Set up the food at a distance from where you're sitting and keep it covered until you're ready to eat.
