(HealthDay News) -- Pancreatitis occurs when the pancreas, a gland located behind the stomach, becomes inflamed.
The American Gastroenterological Association says pancreatitis typically has these symptoms:
- Pain in the central part of the upper abdomen that radiates to the back.
- Pain that may rapidly become severe or gradually get worse and more constant. This pain may worsen when you eat.
- Vomiting or nausea.
- Fever.
- Jaundice (yellow skin).
- Losing weight.
