Health Tip: Signs That You Might Have Pancreatitis

(HealthDay News) -- Pancreatitis occurs when the pancreas, a gland located behind the stomach, becomes inflamed.

The American Gastroenterological Association says pancreatitis typically has these symptoms:

• Pain in the central part of the upper abdomen that radiates to the back.
• Pain that may rapidly become severe or gradually get worse and more constant. This pain may worsen when you eat.
• Vomiting or nausea.
• Fever.
• Jaundice (yellow skin).
• Losing weight.
