The pick-up truck goes whizzing by you at 70 mph on the highway, with a couple of people and a dog sitting in the open flatbed. Looks like fun. And that breeze must be delightful.

Well, hate to spoil the idea, but Washington State University researchers say the practice is just too dangerous. People riding in pick-up beds are the victims of most non-collision deaths, the researchers say.

It's also a bad idea to ride in a covered pick-up bed. Carbon monoxide poisoning can be the problem.
