(HealthDayNews) -- Sometimes emergency situations like power failures or extreme weather conditions can prevent you from refilling prescriptions.
The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists offers this advice:
- Keep a list of your medications in your wallet.
- Maintain a minimum three-day supply at home.
- Refill prescriptions a week before your current supply is gone.
- If needed, wear a medical-alert bracelet, especially if you have diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, or an implantable cardiac defibrillator.
