Simple measures prevent calluses

Time to get outside and dig up those nasty weeds before they ruin the lawn.

After a couple hours of digging, though, your hands will have calluses. To prevent the problem, the Mayo Clinic says a pair of garden gloves or padding or tape on the handles of tools should work.

But if it's too late, you can buy those pads made to protect calluses or corns, or rub them with a pumice stone while bathing.
