(HealthDayNews) -- While car air bags save lives, they can be dangerous for kids, especially side air bags.
Transport Canada offers these safety guidelines:
- Use the appropriate and correct child restraint, such as a booster or infant seat. Make sure it's installed correctly.
- Keep your child in the rear seat of the car.
- Position the seat so it's out of the way of all air bags.
- Keep toys, blankets and other objects from getting between your child and an air bag.
- Check your child's position throughout your journey.
