Daycare Checklist Should Include Kleenex

But many centers forget to stock tissues

(HealthDayNews) -- If you're looking for a daycare center for your child, look around for a box of tissues.

When the Meningitis and Special Pathogens Branch of the Center for Infectious Diseases, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, went looking for causes of the spread of Haemophilus influenzae disease in daycare centers, they found two factors.

The first was a "liberal fecal policy," which means that the daycare center admitted children who weren't toilet trained. The second was the use of handkerchiefs and towels to wipe runny noses.

So, as the American Journal of Public Health reports, if the tissues aren't there, maybe your child shouldn't be either.
