Health Tip: Help Ease Night Terrors

Minimize your child's stress

(HealthDay News) -- A night terror is "a sudden reaction of fear" that occurs during sleep, usually in children, the Nemours Foundation says.

The foundation offers these suggestions to help minimize night terrors:

  • Keep your child's stress to a minimum.
  • Create a predictable, relaxing bedtime routine and follow it every night.
  • Help your child get plenty of rest.
  • Don't let your child stay up too late, as that can leave the child overtired.
