(HealthDay News) -- Food and small objects including toys are prime choking hazards for young children. It's important to know the warning signs of a choking child so you can take quick action.
The National Safety Council says a choking child may:
Have difficulty breathing.
Cough or cry weakly.
Have a bluish tint to the skin.
Lapse into unconsciousness and be unable to signal that he or she is choking.
