Morning Blues

How to get your teen moving in the AM

(HealthDayNews) -- Does your teenager drag herself around the house in the morning, and often can't make it to school before the bell rings?

The Atlantic Health System offers the following tips to help your child speed up her morning rituals. Suggest to your teen that she:

  • Pick out an outfit for school the night before.
  • Not skip breakfast. Rather, pick something healthy that can be eaten on the run.
  • Pack her book bag or purse the night before.
  • Blow dry her hair the night before.
  • Not leave homework for the morning.
  • Listen to upbeat music to get herself moving.
  • Set her alarm about 15 minutes earlier than necessary.
