Majority of Collateral Vessels Formed After BRVO are Extramacular

A large number of collateral vessels (CVs) that form after branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) are extramacular. Among 55 CVs found in 28 BRVO eyes within 27 patients, 45.5% were extramacular, and the majority of CVs (87.3%) coursed through both the superficial and deep capillary plexus.
