Possible causes for impotence

(HealthDayNews) -- Male erectile dysfunction -- better known as impotence -- can be caused by physical problems or nervousness and anxiety. There are lots of tests that can distinguish between the two causes, but the British Journal of Psychiatry describes a recent study that yielded a simple, inexpensive method.

Men who have impotence from psychological causes still get nocturnal erections while they're asleep. So researchers asked each participant to paste two postage stamps on himself before bedtime. If the stamps were still intact in the morning, most likely there was a medical problem. If the stamps were ripped or torn, the cause probably was psychological.
